It was our first ever Eid without family and I must admit it wasn't too great. Being in a new country where you hardly know other Muslims made it incredibly hard to celebrate Eid the traditional way sooooo we thought we may aswell celebrate it in a completely new way- our way! This consisted of a trip to Tungku Beach, Thai food and then driving to the centre to see how the locals celebrated. Although we did miss family, it was really nice celebrating it with just the three of us.
(Yusuf with the surfboard he would not go on again after he got tossed by the waves- atleast it was used once)
(Yusuf's drawing of his Dad-note how neat it is)
(Yusuf's drawing of his Mum- note the mass of curly, crazy hair)
(Zaheer literally jumping for joy)
(These were caused by tiny little crabs underneath the sand)
(There were a LOT of crabs!)
(One of the many mosques in Brunei)
(We came upon this whilst driving around in the centre- it was pretty crazy!)

Thanks for keeping this blog going. We are hoping to move to Brunei and it's really helpful. If you can, would you mind getting in touch via email? Thanks :)

Hi Shamim,
That email address doesn't seem to work - the message I sent bounced back to me, saying 'invalid recipient' - any ideas? x
